Yes.
Athletic Therapy health care is not yet regulated in Ontario or any other provinces of Canada. As such membership in any association, including the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (CATA) is on a voluntary basis and is not mandatory.
The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMSS) graduates of the MSc in Athletic Therapy are eligible to practice in all Canadian provinces as athletic therapists without joining CATA or any other association.
However those who wish to join an association may join IBCAT (International Board of Certified Athletic Therapists). IBCAT is a European athletic therapy association which our students upon passing of its board exams are given the designation of "Certified Athletic Therapist - CAT".
